Instructors
Jeffrey A. Dingle, CPP
Instructor, Manager, Security Training
Jeff is currently the Assistant Director of special
projects for LSI. He started his career with the
Department of Defense as a special agent and criminal
investigator with the NSA Office of Security. While
working with the Federal Law Enforcement Training
Center, he developed the Advanced Physical Security
Training Program and the Physical Security Managers
Training Program. For 11 years Jeff was the Director
of Protective Operations for the Carter Presidential
Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He has also been a Corporate
Security Manager with Home Depot. Jeff is a Certified
Protection Professional and has a Bachelor's degree
in Criminology from Florida State University.

Bobby Earl
Ricks, CPP
Instructor
Bobby is vice president of Ricks International
Consulting, Inc. He retired as the Attorney Supervisor
of the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice
Training. He previously served as Chief of the
Legal Division at the Federal Law Enforcement
Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. He has been
involved in training law enforcement officers
at the federal, state and local levels. Bobby
has also published articles and produced training
films. He is a Certified Protection Professional.
He received his Police Administration degree from
Eastern Kentucky University and his law degree
from the University of Memphis.

Bill W. Thompson, CPP
Instructor

Bill W. Thompson, CPP Instructor - After 12 years
in public law enforcement, including 6 years as
a detective for the Kettering, Ohio Police Department,
Bill spent over 20 years in corporate security
management. He has served as Vice President and
Director of Security for Fifth Third Bank of Cincinnati,
Ohio. Bill holds a CPP certification from the
American Society for Industrial Security. He holds
an AAS degree in Criminal Justice from Sinclair
College.

David Nee
Instructor
 For
nearly 30 years David has served as a U.S. Postal
Inspector, where he investigated workers compensation
fraud, internal financial crimes, bomb threats
and the handling of general security requirements.
David's impressive experience includes security
task force for the 1987 Pan American Games, 1996
Atlanta Olympics and several Indianapolis 500
races. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University
of Wisconsin, Platteville as well.

J. Branch Walton
Instructor
In addition to his 21 years with the U.S. Secret
Service, Branch has much professional experience.
He has been an adjunct or full time university
instructor for 20 years, an instructor at the
U.S. Secret Service Academy for 6 years and
a security consultant for 15 years. He has received
many honors and awards, including the Illinois
State University Medal of Merit (one of only
three awarded) and the Special Recognition Award
from President Nixon. Branch has published a
book and more than 30 articles in security related
magazines. He has a Bachelor's degree from University
of Nebraska, a Master's from Wichita State University
and is pursuing doctoral studies at Indiana
University.

Tom Woodall
Instructor
Tom
was the former director of LSI education four years,
this experience brings an added benefit to LSI
education. Tom also brings 27 years of experience
from the US Government General Services Administration
(GSA) Law Enforcement Division, where he established
the Physical Security Program and oversaw 7,000
buildings worldwide. He is a three time graduate
of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center
(FLETC) and was instrumental in developing their
Physical Security Training Program. Tom completed
the Senior Executive Fellowship at Harvard University.
He has also been certified as a DoD Level II Anti-Terrorism/Force
Protection Instructor and has published numerous
articles in several trade magazines.

Ron Seidman
Instructor
Ron
served as the U. S. Coast Guard National
Director of Security and Counterintelligence
for 18 years, and is the founder of the U.
S. Coast Guard Security Center. Ron has served
at the national level, as a member of the
Director of Central Intelligence Security
Forum, the U. S. National Advisory Group
for Security Countermeasures, and various
OPSEC, Physical Security, Police Services,
Technical Security, and Information Security
National Committees and working groups. He
also served as a member of the Presidential
Task Force that developed Executive Order
12958, and as a member of the U. S. Security
Policy Board Forum that developed Executive
Order 12968, and other National Security
policy directives. Prior to his appointment
with the U. S. Coast Guard, Ron served as
Security Specialist and Director of Security
Operations with the U. S. Department of Navy.
Prior to his career with the Federal Government,
Ron served as a Regional Director of Security
for a national retail merchandizing company,
and was a Special Agent with the Virginia
State Police, specializing in Arson, Explosive
Disposal and Terrorism. Ron has specialized
degrees in Police Science and Fire Science
and has developed numerous Security and Law
Enforcement training programs.

LSI Technical Services Instructors
Charles Batcke, CPL, CPS
Instructor
Chuck has over 18 years experience in the security industry. He owned and operated a locksmith business for 12 years, which gave him practical insight and knowledge on many types of locking systems and hardware. Chuck has a specialized knowledge of safe and vaults, and automotive locks. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Management from Northwood University. Also rounding out his education, he has graduated from LSI’s Tactical Entry Program and Covert Methods of Entry. His advanced knowledge in covert and surreptitious entry techniques have taken him throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Middle East. He is a long time member of the Associated Locksmiths of America, Safe & Vault Technicians Association, and the International Association of Investigative Locksmiths. Chuck has earned certification levels of Certified Professional Locksmith and Certified Professional Safetech.

Shane Varney, CRL
Instructor
Since
joining LSI in 1999, Shane has taken on the responsibility
of teaching the hands-on, technical courses. He
is certified as an ACE and a Kaba Mas instructor.
In addition to teaching, Shane designs tools for
the locksmith, safe technician and the access control
technician. His ability to design and build circuits
as well as troubleshoot both mechanical and electro-magnetic
locks and lock systems has been a significant asset
to LSI. He is currently working on his Engineering
Technology degree in the electronic field. He is
also an active member of Associated Locksmiths of
America (ALOA) and Safe and Vault Technicians Association
(SAVTA).
