Overview
This program offers an introduction to the skills required to conduct and report voluntary, non-custodial interviews in public areas of transportations systems. This program covers the basic of interview procedures, and can be followed up with advanced training in specific techniques such as Reid, Wicklander and Behavioral Pattern Recognition.
While a governmental
official may not have the authority to arrest, their
actions can constitute a seizure under the Fourth
Amendment. Additionally, actions can invoke the privilege
against self-incrimination and possibly a need for
Miranda warnings. Aviation Security Professionals
should be familiar with what conduct constitutes
a seizure under the Fourth Amendment and they should
be familiar with what conduct may taint statements.
AIR is an abbreviation for Assess/Interview/Report

Law Enforcement/Security Personnel and Port Law
Enforcement/Security Manager and Aviation Operations
Managers.
Class Format
Classroom lecture, discussion, PowerPoint, video scenarios, role-play, practical exercises.
Students will be provided with instruction and an overview of problems, solutions, procedures, policies and techniques for interviewing "persons of interest" in a public setting.
